What we learned from Texas’ upset victory over Oklahoma State

While there are still problems, the win could rejuvenate some life into the program. Here are three things we learned from the upset victory.

Bijan Robinson’s role is increasing

Coming into the season, the depth chart order at running back was Keaontay Ingram, Roschon Johnson and Bijan Robinson. A five-star prospect coming out of high school, Robinson was dubbed the next great running back to come out of Texas.

It took a few games to get him into a more prominent role, but with Ingram having ball security problems and Roschon dealing with injuries, Robinson’s time has come. Against Oklahoma State, the true freshman led the team in carries and yards. Averaging 4.5 yards per carry, Robinson had a season-high rushing total of 59.

Johnson was Robinson’s sidekick on Saturday, getting nine carries. Ingram was the one who was left in the dark, getting two. Hopefully, Robinson is able to step into the full-time starting running back. If he lives up to the hype, he will become an all-time player in Austin.
