Week 3 2023 Mountain West Football: Best Bets

We got some conference action plus more chances for a ranked upset. Here’s how the MW shakes out in Week 3.

Hawai’i @ #13 Oregon (-38.5, O/U 69.5)

Uhh, yeah. The second good luck game of the Mountain West weekend. Hawai’i has taken some large steps forward from last year, but they still aren’t at the competing with Oregon level yet. Oregon wins comfortably and keeps Hawai’i under control.

New Mexico State @ New Mexico (-1.5, O/U 54.5)

The Rio Grande Rivalry. The Aggies vs the Lobos. Throw everything out the window when it comes to rivalry games. New Mexico State has looks the better team so far, but you never know what is going to happen. New Mexico is still in a show me mode and will be until they actually do.

Colorado State @ #18 Colorado (-23.5, O/U 60.5)

What is this, rivalry week? The Rocky Mountain Showdown returns to campus and is back on ESPN. Prime vs Norvell. Rams vs Buffaloes. Take the over because defense will be at a premium here. It will be an offensive showcase on both sides.

Fresno State @ Arizona State (+3, O/U 50.5)

This game originally started as Arizona State being favored. But a rash of injuries has pushed the line towards Fresno State. A let down game last week against FCS Eastern Washington turns into another opportunity for a P5 win for the Bulldogs.

Kansas @ Nevada (+27.5, O/U 58.5)

Yikes Nevada. You get to face a resurging Kansas team who is looking to win their third game in a row. Losing to USC was understandable, you even managed to score two touchdowns. But how do you only score two field goals against FCS Idaho. Take the Jayhawks to cover.
