Week 13 CFP Eliminator: On the brink of chaos

Our CFP Eliminator is counting down the teams still in the College Football Playoff picture. With only two weeks to go, 12 teams remain.

Week 13: Teams Remaining

We began the week with 12 teams. We eliminated one more in Week 13, so 11 teams remain in contention. Every independent and Group of 5 team has already been eliminated.

ACC:

Team: Notes:
Clemson Undefeated after Week 13.

Big 12:

Team: Notes:
Baylor Loss to Oklahoma hurts. Will need to win out and get some chaos.
Oklahoma Impressive comeback over Baylor. Needs to win out to have any real shot.

Big Ten:

Team: Notes:
Minnesota Loss to Iowa removes leeway. Win out and reach Playoff; lose again and no real chance.
Ohio State Undefeated after Week 13.
Penn State Not enough quality wins and not enough chaos. Penn State is eliminated.
Wisconsin Impressive win over Michigan. Loss to Illinois not as awful. Will have a strong two-loss resume by winning out.

Pac 12:

Team: Notes:
Oregon Ducks are sitting dead in the water. Would need extreme chaos, but I’ll give it a week to play out.
Utah Dominant wins but no quality ones. Loss to USC doesn’t look so bad anymore. Needs to win out and beat Oregon convincingly to stay in the conversation.

SEC:

Team: Notes:
Alabama Needs a lot of help after Week 11 loss to LSU.
Georgia Good win over Notre Dame in Week 4. Ugly loss to South Carolina. Still a lock if it wins out.
LSU Undefeated after Week 13.
