WATCH: Tua Tagovailoa throwing in full pads for first time since 2019

Former Alabama star QB Tua Tagovailoa is back to throwing in full pads since his injury in 2019 that ended his collegiate career.

Former Alabama star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the talk of the town in Miami, Florida. The 2020 No. 5 overall selection by the Miami Dolphins is constantly making headlines by completing simple tasks, such as running, throwing and talking to the media.

The spotlight is constantly on Tagovailoa due to the hip injury he suffered in November against Mississippi state late in the 2019 college football season. The injury took him out for the remainder of the season and made plenty of NFL front offices and fans weary of the 2018 Heisman finalist.

Since his injury, he has had surgery, rehabbed and practiced to get to where he is now. A fully healthy Tagovailoa will look to complete with veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting job to open the season.

However, it is likely that the Dolphins will have Tagovailoa sit beneath Fitzpatrick on the depth chart early in the season to learn from the 15-season NFL veteran.

Today the Miami Dolphins had their first full-pad practice at training camp in preparation for the 2020 season.

WPLG’s Will Manso was present and posted videos of Tagovailoa throwing in full pads for the first time since his injury nine months ago.

Tagovailoa can also be seen speaking with coaches and receiving instruction in between passes.

Roll Tide Wire will keep you updated on Tua Tagovailoa as he makes his way into year No. 1 in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins.
