WATCH: TreVeyon Henderson breaks Archie Griffin record for most rushing yards by a freshman

TreVeyon Henderson breaks record held by Archie Griffin since 1972.

We might just be seeing a changing of the guard in the Ohio State backfield. The Buckeyes are blessed with talent upon talent at the running back position, but there is just something different about TreVeyon Henderson.

Henderson has rattled off another long touchdown run for OSU to put the Buckeyes up by two touchdowns once again. This one was a little more special as Henderson just passed Ohio State royalty in the record books with most rushing yards in a single game by a freshman.

Archie Griffen has held that record since 1972 with 239 yards in a single game that came against the North Carolina Tarheels. Early in the fourth quarter, Henderson now has 244 yards rushing and three touchdowns on the day.

Check out the record-breaking run below.

TreVeyon Henderson is a special one folks and it looks like he’s ready to take the mantle right now.
