WATCH: K.J. Hill has thank you message for Los Angeles Chargers

Ohio State wide receiver K.J. Hill went much later than expected in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he had a message of thanks for the Chargers.

It took a while, but Ohio State wide receiver K.J. Hill finally went off the NFL draft board in the seventh round. He went to the L.A. Chargers where he’ll be teamed up with another Buckeye, defensive end Joey Bosa.

The fact that Hill fell much farther than anyone expected could have left him with a bitter taste in his mouth. Even OSU head coach Ryan Day singled out Hill dropping so far as the biggest surprise disappointment with the former Buckeyes drafted.

However, instead of dwelling on a perceived slight, Hill had a message for Los Angeles Chargers fans, coaches, players, and executives. It was one of gratitude and an attitude of getting to work.

“What’s up L.A.,” said Hill in a Twitter video posted by the Chargers Twitter profile. “This is K.J. Hill — wide receiver. I just want to say I appreciate the opportunity, and I appreciate you all letting my dreams come true. Now it’s time to get to work and win this (Super Bowl) ring. Bolts up.”

It’s hard not to root for a guy that has worked so hard, is so productive, and does it all with humility. He’s ready to use what he’s learned and developed into to be all that he can be for the Chargers.

I wouldn’t bet against him having a long, productive career either.
