It’s “the brotherhood.” That’s what you hear Ohio State players say makes the Buckeye program different. We’ve even heard a former Michigan coach now turned OSU assistant say some similar things. Being a part of the brotherhood means you fight and play for the brothers next to you. Not for a head coach, not for yourself, for those that you care about next to you because you’re in it together.
The brotherhood was on full display when projected NFL first-round cornerback Jeff Okudah appeared on ESPN’s NFL Live with host Wendi Nix to talk about the upcoming draft. Before the interview ended, Okudah was asked if he had any questions for NFL draft expert Mel Kiper.
“OK, I do have a question, I do have a question,” Okudah said. “Why is Damon Arnette not considered one of the top DBs in the draft right now?”
Not many mock NFL draft projections have Arnette going in the first round, but he and Okudah anchored a pass defense that was tops in the country in many statistical categories.
The question looked to be unexpected by Kiper, but the draft guru answered with some pretty high praise. Even though he doesn’t have him in the first round, Kiper does have him going pretty quickly thereafter.
“He is (one of the top corners), Jeff, he’s in the second round right now,” Kiper said. “There’s some that think he can sneak into the first. To play the way he did with the arm and still be out there making plays — had a heck of a career. So I have him going in round two of this mock. He won’t have to wait too long — Friday — to hear his name called.”

The answer seemed to satisfy Okudah. And the brotherhood strikes again.
