If the 2021 NFL season ended today, the NFC East would hold five of the top 10 picks in the 2022 NFL draft. With almost half of the current season remaining, that’s not exactly where you want to be, but it should make for an exciting offseason.
The Washington Football Team picked up a big win in Week 10, upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 29-19, to snap a four-game losing streak and improve to 3-6 on the season.
The win didn’t prove too costly for Washington’s draft hopes either, as the WFT now holds the No. 9 spot according to Tankathon, falling three positions from last week.
Washington desperately needs to find a long-term answer at quarterback; something fans have been pleading for over the last 30 years. Washington thought it had its man in Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins, but neither worked out for different reasons.
There are plenty of quarterbacks in the discussion for the first round in 2022: Sam Howell of North Carolina, Carson Strong of Nevada, Malik Willis of Liberty, Matt Corral of Ole Miss, and Kenny Pickett of Pitt are just some of the names.
So, Washington will have a chance to find its guy in 2022, whether through the draft or the trade market.
