USA Today Ranks The Best 150 College Teams of All-Time

USA Today came out with a list of the best 150 college football teams of all time, the Texas Longhorns appeared seven times.

1961 Texas Longhorns (Number 101)

The 1961 team joins the list at number 101. This was a memorable team given that this was the first year that the Longhorns wore the Bevo logo on their helmets while finishing 10-1 on the season. Once again they finished the year with a Cotton Bowl victory over Ole Miss 12-7. Jimmy Saxton was named Consensus All-American.

1947 Texas Longhorns (Number 90)

Making the list as the number 90 team on the countdown, the 1947 Longhorns finished the season with a 10-1 record and defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl 27-7. That season Bobby Layne was named Consensus All-American and Sugar Bowl MVP. Another notable member of the Longhorns team was future legendary coach Tom Landry.
