UGA football offers Hawaii DL in transfer portal

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the list of schools to offer Hawaii DL Jonah La’ulu after he entered the transfer portal

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the schools to offer Hawaii defensive lineman Jonah La’ulu after he entered the transfer portal on Dec. 28. La’ulu has two years of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound defensive lineman has offers from Georgia, USC, Washington, Miami, California, LSU and Oklahoma among others. La’ulu was a two-star recruit coming out of Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

La’ulu recorded four sacks and 31 total tackles in 2021. Hawaii went 6-7 in 2021, but was unable to play in the Hawaii Bowl due to COVID-19.

Hawaii was a transfer destination for a pair of Georgia Bulldogs last offseason, so La’ulu could have some familiarity with the UGA program despite Hawaii’s distance from Georgia.

The former two-star recruit announced his scholarship offer from UGA via his Twitter account:

La’ulu could help boost Georgia’s pass rush in 2022. La’ulu would project as a 3-4 defensive end in UGA’s defensive scheme.
