The Georgia Bulldogs are in the top eight for elite high school football recruit Shemar James. James is a four-star outside linebacker, who plays football for Faith Academy in Mobile, Alabama.
Shemar James is a member of the class of 2022, so he’s a junior in high school. James is 6-foot-3 and weighs 200 pounds.
The Faith Academy athlete plays primarily wide receiver and outside linebacker. His team tries to get him the ball in space anyway they can and he sometimes lines up in the backfield. It is rare to see a wide receiver who plays defensive end/outside linebacker, but James has the size to do it at the high school level.
Shemar James projects to be a possession receiver or a pass rushing outside linebacker at the college level. He can track the ball well and ripped off some explosive plays after the catch last season.
James additionally has the capability to be a great blocking wide receiver. Both Kirby Smart and Nick Saban love wide receivers who are willing to get in the mix and block.
