Two-team recruiting battle shaping up for five-star WR Micah Hudson

Texas and Texas Tech are early frontrunners for the state’s top wide receiver.

Five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson is one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The Lake Belton product possesses can’t miss athleticism and playmaking ability. In addition, Hudson is a crisp route runner with solid hands that will translate well to the college level.

Hudson is a hot commodity on the recruiting trail, with over 35 reported offers. It appears two in-state schools are early standouts for the five-star.

Chad Simmons of On3 Sports provided an update on Hudson’s recruitment.

Micah Hudson can go wherever he wants, but him staying in Texas seems likely at this stage. Texas and Texas Tech have positioned themselves well in this race. Hudson is very familiar with both programs and although the confidence is a little louder in Austin, there is a quiet confidence in Lubbock as well. Hudson has not locked in any official visits, but the Longhorns and Red Raiders are expected to receive one.

Texas and Texas Tech rarely battle it out for top recruits. Credit to both coaching staffs for making a good impression thus far.

Other big-name programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Texas A&M are working on getting their name in the mix for the star wideout.
