Twitter reacts to the end of the Commanders’ season

Twitter reacts to Rivera’s final game, Forbes, McLaurin, the future and more.

The 2023 NFL season is over for the Washington Commanders. One that began with such promise and a 2-0 record ends with a 4-13 mark and eight consecutive losses.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Commanders 38-10 on Sunday at FedEx Field in what looked like a home game for Dallas. Washington announced a sellout on Saturday, but most knew Sunday’s game would be a sea of blue.

The loss is expected to be the final game of the Ron Rivera era. Rivera will finish his time in Washington with a 26-40-1 record and was also the head of football operations.

It was another ugly defeat for the Commanders, but unlike previous ones, fans were looking ahead with promise. Not only did Washington secure the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but fans are excited about the prospect of owner Josh Harris hiring a new general manager and head coach.

With the regular season in the books and a critical and exciting offseason ahead, we look back at how Twitter — or X — reacted to Washington’s final game of the 2023 season.
