Tracking Ohio State football players in the 2020 NFL Draft real time

What Ohio State players are being taken in the NFL draft, and when and where are they going? We’re keeping track in real-time here.

Chase Young, Defensive end

Drafted by the Washington Redskins, No. 2 overall – First Round

It’s official. Chase Young has been reunited with former Buckeye teammates Dwayne Haskins and Terry McLaurin in our nation’s capital. Young is a freakish athlete and has the length, power, and size to bully the man he lines up across from. But he’s also quick enough to beat almost any offensive tackle off the edge. He’s not just gifted with athletic talents though, he has worked hard with his technique to get around and through his man. It’s part of the reason why he led the country this year with 16.5 sacks, a single-season Ohio State program record.

And it’s not just pass-rushing that he excels at. One of the things he doesn’t get enough credit for is his ability to play and diagnose things against the run. He is almost as equally adept at diagnosing plays and working his way off blocks to make stops behind the line and in pursuit.

Guys like Young don’t come around very often and he should be a wind-up, plug, play, and get out of his way talent in D.C.
