Two running backs were selected within the top-12 picks of the 2023 NFL draft.
That came as a surprise to many, as Texas running back Bijan Robinson was the only prospect at the position projected to be selected early in the first round. Many NFL mock drafts had Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs being taken off of the board late in the first round at best, but the Detroit Lions secured him with the No. 12 pick.
There are still several intriguing running backs available that are expected to be selected on Day 2. According to ESPN’s draft prospect rankings, UCLA’s Zach Charbonnet leads the way as the top running back left on the board.
Texas running back Roschon Johnson is among the handful hoping to be taken off of the board in the third round. Here’s a look at several running backs who could hear their name called next.
