No. 4 – Texas vs. Kansas State – 2006
Texas was ranked No. 2 in the nation heading into this matchup against unranked Kansas State. This game single-handedly knocked the defending national champions out of the title hunt.
After quarterback Colt McCoy was hurt on the opening drive, backup Jevan Sneed struggled with completing only 13 passes. Running back Jamaal Charles attempted to carry the load with two touchdowns, but the Texas defense couldn’t find an answer for the Wildcats.
There is no excuses for one of the best teams in the nation to lose to an unranked opponent.
Final Score: 42-45
