No. 5 – California at Texas – 2015
This is one of those endings where you had to do a double take to truly believe the way it ended. After Texas stormed back from a 21-point deficit on the shoulders of freshman quarterback Jerrod Heard, senior kicker Nick Rose shockingly shanked the extra point with 1:11 left on the clock.
The Longhorns ended up losing the game 45-44 in heartbreaking fashion. Extra points are considered to be automatic, head coach Charlie Strong was stunned by the loss. With Texas owning the momentum on the potential tieing touchdown drive, an overtime upset was on the horizon against expected top NFL Draft pick Jared Goff.
