The first big win for Tom Herman at Texas was at home to USC. After losing in Los Angeles the year prior, the Longhorns needed a statement win to get momentum for the 2018 season. Caden Sterns provided it, blocking a field goal and returning it to the house, putting Texas comfortably ahead in the third quarter.
