Tom Brady and Jameis Winston’s seasons both had eerily similar endings

Both Tom Brady and Jameis Winston’s 2019 seasons ended on a sour note.

Jameis Winston had a season for the ages in 2019, both good and bad. While the former Heisman Trophy winner became just the eighth quarterback in league history to throw for 5,000 yards in a season, he also became the first player ever to throw for at least 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in a season.

Winston’s 30th pick may have been the worst of all, and not just because it pulled him to the infamous 30-INT mark. It came in overtime of the Bucs’ Week 17 game against the Atlanta Falcons, on the very first play, and was taken to the house for the game-winning score by linebacker Deion Jones. It would be Winston’s last pass attempt as the Bucs quarterback. The team went out and signed Tom Brady and Winston eventually landed with the New Orleans Saints.

But Winston wasn’t the only one whose season ended because of a pick-six. Brady, himself, saw his final throw as a Patriot get picked and taken back for a touchdown in New England’s wild-card loss to the Tennessee Titans. It’s funny how things work out.

Take a look now at those final plays below.
