Timmy Allen is not ready to say goodbye to his collegiate career just yet.

The senior announced he will take advantage of his COVID-19 year and return to Texas for the 2022-23 season.

Allen led Texas in both scoring (12.1 points per game) and rebounding (6.4 rebounds per game) this past season. The 6-foot-6 forward excelled with his mid-range scoring and improved his defense as the season went along. He scored 24 points and hit the game-winning shot in Texas’ upset victory over the eventual national champion Kansas Jayhawks.

The Utah transfer was named second-team All-Big 12 in his first season with the Longhorns.

Chris Beard should be thrilled with the direction his team is headed as next season’s roster is starting to take shape. Texas landed New Mexico State transfer Jabari Rice from the transfer portal on Tuesday.
