Tigers of the Game: Williams, Broome earn honors for effort in West Virginia game

Williams and Broome were vital to Auburn’s second-half comeback attempt in Saturday’s loss to West Virginia.

For the first time this season, Auburn Basketball has become victim to a two-game losing streak.

Auburn’s strong second half could not erase a 16-point lead that West Virginia built in the first half was too much to overcome, as the Tigers fell to the Mountaineers in the opening game of the SEC-Big 12 Challenge, 80-77.

Auburn shot 49.2% from the field in the loss, but four Tigers would end the game with double-digits in the points column. For the fourth time this season, Jaylin Williams led the team in scoring, while Johni Broome had a special second half. Allen Flanigan reached double-figures in the first half, while K.D. Johnson crossed the threshold late in the game.

With so many options, choosing a Tiger of the Game provided a challenge. Here’s a look at which player Auburn Wire writers Taylor JonesJ.D. McCarthy, and River Wells, as well as Auburn fans, chose as their Tiger of the Game following Auburn’s loss to West Virginia.
