Although Texas leads the overall series with TCU, the last decade has been one to forget for Longhorns fans.
Since 1897, Texas and TCU have faced off 92 times. The overall series sits at 63-27-1 in favor of the Longhorns. However, Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs have won seven of the last nine matchups.
TCU had an impressive run from 2014-2017, where they were ranked within the top 10 in three of those four seasons. The most recent meeting in Austin took place on Oct. 3, 2020, and Tom Herman’s ranked squad was riddled with self-inflicted mistakes and lost the game in the final minutes.
Will Steve Sarkisian finally be able to break the curse that has been a thorn in Texas’ side? The Longhorns have been playing disciplined football in all three phases and are coming off of two blowout wins, while TCU dropped their first game of the season last week to SMU.
