Is there enough speed on the perimeter?
The question on the perimeter is one that has many concerned. The depth at running back required Roschon Johnson to move from his backup quarterback spot to help carry the load. Jordan Whittington will be moving to receiver and likely moved around but there is plenty of promise in the running back room. Not to mention the number one running back in the country, Bijan Robinson, is on his way to the forty acres. Can the Longhorns rush around the edge? That is one question that remains to be answered but they certainly have the talent to do it.
On the receiver front there are glaring questions without a doubt. Two of the top six receivers in the programs history according to the leaderboards are now gone. The Longhorns have to find a way to replace a ton of production. Jake Smith, Brennan Eagles and Jordan Whittington will all be in play to try and take up those mantles. Incoming freshman receiver and brother of Keaontay Ingram, Kelvontay Dixon has plenty of speed but the question is when will he see the field?
As of right now none of these questions can truly be answered but one should think that the talent has always been there. The biggest question of all is can Tom Herman put it all together and make a serious run at Oklahoma and a College Football Playoff berth.
