The nine ESPN 300 commits that make up Texas’ 2021 recruiting class

Texas is one of the top five programs in the nation in terms of how many ESPN 300 commits are in their 2021 recruiting class.

The hype continues to surround Texas head coach Tom Herman’s 2021 recruiting class.

ESPN national recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton recently listed the top programs who have the most ESPN 300 commitments right now. While Ohio State is far and away the leader of this particular class, Texas is right in the mix of the top five.

After four-star athletes J.D. Coffey and Ishmael Ibraheem announced their commitments on Monday, the Longhorns now have nine ESPN 300 players in their 2021 recruiting class. Four of these recruits are ranked in the top 150, but all of them are from the state of Texas.

No. 49 Ja’Tavion Sanders, ATH

No. 76 Billy Bowman Jr., WR

No. 111 Jalen Milroe, QB

No. 114 Ishmael Ibraheem, CB

No. 188 Derrick Harris Jr., OLB

No. 199 J.D. Coffey, S

No. 220 Jordon Thomas, DE

No. 254 Hayden Connor, OG

No. 295 Morice Blackwell, OLB

Herman continues to control recruiting within the state, each of these nine commits are blue chip players. If the Longhorns coaching staff can improve on player development and become consistent, Texas could be legitimate national title contenders for the foreseeable future.
