The NFL’s worst deep-ball quarterbacks

Which quarterbacks were least efficient when asked to push the ball down the field? None of these guys are kings of the deep passing game.

Like Jared Goff, Ryan found his deep-ball efficiency cratering in 2019. In 2018, he completed 31 of 74 passes of 20 or more air yards for 1,063 yards, eight touchdowns, two interceptions, and a passer rating of 113.9 that ranked fifth-best in the league. In 2019, Ryan completed just 24 of 56 deep passes for 827 yards, four touchdowns, and five picks. Ryan’s pressure rate went up from 32.8% in 2018 to 39.2% in 2019, which has something to do with it, but it’s also important to remember that quarterbacks can create their own pressure.
