The Cardinals’ 6 biggest surprises of 2019

The Cardinals had several players perform at a much higher level and have a much bigger role than probably anyone expected.

There didn’t seem to be anything particularly special about the player the Cardinals acquired in the supplemental draft in July. He didn’t have great size or speed and his numbers in college were nice. And with joining the team in July without the offseason program, no one expected him to do much.

However, after D.J. Swearinger was cut, he and fellow rookie Deionte Thompson split snaps for a while and then Jalen took over the job completely, making plays and looking like the Cardinals could possibly have something special there.
