Everyone loves a good comeback tale—especially in a boxing film (hello, Rocky)—and Bleed for This didn’t miss the punch. The film starred talented actor Miles Teller, who plays Vinny “The Pazmanian Devil” Pazienza, and follows his arduous attempt to get back into the ring after a crash crash left him with a broken back. The relationship between Pazienza and trainer Kevin Rooney (Aaron Eckhart) was a perfect blend of tough love and general human nature that would’ve made Rocky and Mick tip their hats (or beanie, in Mick’s case). And the journey, the in-your-face style that director Ben Younger applied was so well done that the audience would find themselves flexing their back muscles, imaging the absolute mountain of a challenge: to regain the ability to walk again, and then build the strength needed to get back in the ring.
