The University of Texas community continues to demonstrate thoughtful acts of kindness.
Throughout the past week, Texas collaborated with the NCAA for the #UnitedAsOne social media campaign.
Coaches, staff, and the school president all shared uplifting messages on social media to lift the spirits of students, athletes, and recruits amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Texas head football coach Tom Herman took it a step further and sent a thoughtful donation to a critical source of food for central Texas residents.
President and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank, Derrick Chubbs, shared a handwritten note from Herman via Twitter on Friday.
Thank you, Coach Herman, for your generous gift to the @CTXFoodBank Hook 'Em! pic.twitter.com/lDvdbcfFV5

The Central Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief charity in Central Texas. They work with food donors across the country, financial supporters and volunteers to fill unmet needs in the area.
Over 39 million meals were provided to needy families in the community last year. It is expected that the average number of families that turn to food banks for assistance will increase in 2020, as many are left without work due to recent closures.
Both on and off the field, the University of Texas coaches, staff, and students have shown incredible strength and support for their peers during these trying times.
