Texas is one of seven schools left in the running for five-star athlete Makai Lemon.
The California native is the No. 1 athlete in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 12 prospect in the nation according to 247Sports. Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Michigan are the final schools left in his recruitment.
On Wednesday, Lemon announced that he would be committing on August 7.

The 6-foot-0, 180-pound versatile athlete played in all three phases for Los Alamitos High School as a freshman in 2019 and was named a MaxPreps 2020 Preseason Sophomore Second-Team All-American.
On Thursday, three 247Sports crystal ball predictions were entered in favor of the Sooners landing Lemon. The Longhorns extended an offer to him on May 12, but no unofficial visits have been documented for the sought-after prospect yet.
