Big news for the Longhorns as starting right tackle Christian Jones announced he is returning to Texas for the 2023 season.
Jones has played in 48 games in his college career, making 35 starts at tackle. He took a massive leap in production from 2021 to 2022 in his second year working with offensive line coach Kyle Flood. Jones was named an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection while holding down the right side of the line last season.
Jones coming back means Texas will be one of the most experienced offenses in the nation entering next year. 10 of 11 starters return on that side of the ball, including all five offensive linemen.
Texas’ offensive line has the chance to be one of the stronger position groups on the team moving forward. The Longhorns have talent, depth and continuity.
