Texas Roundtable: If you could bring back one offensive player

Longhorns Wire staff each chose one specific offensive player that they’d bring back to this current roster for the upcoming season.

The Texas Longhorns haven’t had a serious threat from the tight end position in quite some time. The name Geoff Swaim was more of a blocker who caught the ball sparingly. Cade Brewer has played three years in Austin with just 22 career receptions. A player like David Thomas comes to mind as a player that I would bring back for one season.

With the inexperience at wide receiver, Thomas would relieve some of the stress on the position group. As a senior he caught 50 passes for 613 yards and five touchdowns. In his final collegiate game, Thomas hauled in 10 passes for 88 yards against USC in the BCS National Championship. Thomas would only make the offense even more lethal for Sam Ehlinger and he would likely be his best friend.
