It was tough to decide between a running back or wide receiver here. There have been several successful running backs in Texas history, but in regards to this current roster, the receiving corps is the bigger question mark. In summary, Shipley took the edge for his versatility. He was more than just your typical receiver. He was a dangerous weapon in the return game and was nearly impossible to cover.
He finished his career at Texas as the all-time leader in receptions and ranked second in yards and touchdowns. Shipley remains one of the most productive offensive players to ever wear burnt orange.
