Texas opens as underdogs on the road against Iowa State

For the third time this season, Texas opens as the underdogs.

After facing three ranked opponents, which ultimately resulted in three consecutive losses, the Longhorns are now preparing for a tough road matchup against Iowa State.

Texas and Iowa State have had underwhelming seasons up to this point, and they’re both desperate to get back into the win column in Week 10. Steve Sarkisian’s squad is in danger of falling below .500 on the year, while the Cyclones are now on the outside looking in of the Big 12 title race.

The best way to fix problems is by winning. An 8-4 season was not out of the equation this year under a new coaching staff, but it was certainly seen as the worst possible scenario for Texas. Now, they have to win the final four games on the schedule to reach that feat.

Tipico Sportsbook sees Iowa State as the 6.5 point favorite in this one. It’s not hard to see why, as Texas has managed to blow double-digit leads in each of the last three contests, and have some serious issues with stopping the run.

This is just the third time this season that Texas has opened as the underdog.
