The Longhorns recently extended an offer to a promising young receiver out of Houston, Texas.
Jaquaize Pettaway announced that he received an offer from Texas via his Twitter account on Thursday. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound receiver is not yet ranked by any national media outlets, but that will likely change over the coming weeks as Pettaway has received a spike in offers over the last month.
Texas is one of four Big 12 programs to offer Pettaway over the last few weeks, joining West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and Baylor. Outside of the conference, he’s received offers from USC, Arkansas, and Houston.
In 2020, Pettaway was named the District 16-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore at Langham Creek High School, where he hauled in 55 receptions for 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns.
