Chris Beard has finalized his coaching staff with the hire of Brandon Chappell from UNLV.
Chappell fills the hole left by former assistant Ulric Maligi, who left to take the associate head coaching position at Kansas State back in March.
Chappell is an up and coming name in the college basketball coaching industry. He began his coaching career at Armstrong State in 2013 before making a few stops en route to UNLV ahead of last season.
He has strong ties to the state of Texas after playing high school and college basketball in Beaumont. Chappell played at Lamar University followed by a five-year stint playing professional ball overseas.
Texas basketball is now locked and loaded to prep for the upcoming season. Here is a full look at the Longhorns 2022-23 schedule.
