Historically when these two teams have played, it has been later in the season. In fact that haven’t played each other in any other month but November for the last nine years. Quite a difference to play in September for these two teams. In 2010, the Longhorns defeated Tech 24-14 on that September night.

In that game the Longhorns gave up just one offensive touchdown. It came in the second quarter when Taylor Potts found Lyle Leong to tie up the game at 14. Their first score came on an interception when Jarvis Phillips picked off Garrett Gilbert for the 85-yard pick six.

Justin Tucker gave them the lead in the third quarter and Gilbert sealed the victory with a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. One shouldn’t expect this type of low scoring game this coming Saturday. However, it is 2020 and you just never know.
