Since the infamous 2008 Michael Crabtree game, Texas has traveled to Lubbock five times and flown back to Austin winners after all of them. Mack Brown, Charlie Strong, and Tom Herman have all secured road wins against Texas Tech over the past decade. Fitting that Crabtree will be inducted into their Ring of Honor during halftime.

Winning by an average of 11.0 points over those five games, the closest result came in 2016 when Texas won 45-37 and again in 2018 where again Texas won 41-34. It took a late effort by Sam Ehlinger and the offense to secure a win this game. Lil’Jordan Humphrey scored a touchdown with just 0:21 left in the game, Humphrey scored in the “Crabtree corner” for this one.

After Ehlinger found Devin Duvernay on a 39-yard touchdown pass, the Red Raiders would score 17-straight to tie up the game. With under two minutes to go, Ehlinger engineered a drive that went 75-yards and left literally no time for Jett Duffey and Tech to find a way to tie it up.
