Texas Longhorns team of the century: Wide receivers

Longhorns Wire is compiling a starting roster for team of the century, next up is the wide receivers.

Outside of former Texas legends Roy Williams and Jordan Shipley, this was a tough position group to fill.

The options are endless. Fortunately this list is limited to the past decade, otherwise it could be more difficult than it already is.

Roy Williams has without a doubt been the best wide receiver in the history of Texas football. He holds more records than any other Texas offensive player, was inducted into the Hall of Honor in 2013. Williams was a three-time first-team All-Big 12 selection who played in 50 career games with 42 starts.

Jordan Shipley presents a great case as the No. 2 receiver, especially when you consider his flexibility as a returner. He had excellent route-running, size, strength and work ethic. Shipley earned All-American honors as a senior.

At times it appears Quan Cosby is forgotten about, but he also posed a dangerous threat as a receiver and kick returner. He remains No. 4 all-time in career receptions at Texas with 212.
