Terrel Bernard is a superstar
Listed at 6-1 and 222 pounds, Terrel Bernard is going to be far and away the best defensive football player on Saturday. Named preseason first-team All-Big 12, Bernard is on his way to being named to the first-team once the season is over just two games into the year.
Against Kansas in the season opener, the junior linebacker recorded eight tackles, 3.5 of which were for a loss, plus two sacks. Bernard backed his great play up against West Virginia the next week, having 13 tackles (10 solos) and added an interception. He can do it all for Dave Aranda’s defense.
Whether he is rushing the passer or stopping the run at the line of scrimmage, Texas’ offensive line is going to have a problem guarding this guy. Bernard can even drop into coverage and has the size of a safety. Offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich and quarterback Sam Ehlinger will have to have all eyes on No. 2.
