Texas Longhorns Football: Three offensive keys against UTEP

Yes, Texas is favored by 42 points but the Longhorns must execute in certain areas. Here are three offensive keys to the game against UTEP:

When you match up Texas’ offensive skill position players against UTEP’s defense skill position players, the Longhorns hold the clear advantage. Tarik Black, Jordan Whittington, and Joshua Moore are all going to be able to make plays.

In order to get the ball distributed to those players, the offensive line must give Sam Ehlinger time in the pocket. Texas’ offensive line will have some new faces but should still dominate the line of scrimmage against UTEP.

Once the ball is out of Ehlinger’s hands, the Longhorns’ offense is going to thrive. The senior quarterback was the third most accurate quarterback in the conference, finding his playmakers 65% of the time. If Ehlinger is consistently protected well, Texas is going to score a good amount of points.
