Troy Omeire
During fall camp before the 2020 season, true freshman Troy Omeire was winning the position battle with Brennan Eagles at X-receiver. However, he tore his ACL before during practice and missed the season. Omeire is expected to be ready in time for spring camp.
When Omeire does return, he has the potential to become the starting X-receiver once again. Eagles left the program for the NFL draft, and the position will be wide open. The former four-star prospect is listed at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, not the typical build you would see at receiver in Sarkisian’s offense.
Even then, Omeire is going to be one of the breakout stars in the offense next season if he can stay healthy. The Longhorns are in desperate need of a clear cut No. 1 receiver for whoever their next starting quarterback is. Omeire will have all of the tools and the opportunity to become that.
