Texas Longhorns Football: Five fresh faces who could break out in 2021

Texas has an abundance of talent on its roster waiting to shine. Here are five fresh faces who could break out for Texas in 2021.

Steve Sarkisian and his coaching staff are not going to be the only fresh faces on the sideline this fall. Texas’ depth chart has the potential to look a lot different than during the Alamo Bowl against Colorado.

From a recruiting standpoint, the Longhorns took in 21 high school players, highlighted by five-star athlete Ja’Tavion Sanders. Three new transfers, Darion Dunn, Ovie Oghoufo and Ray Thornton, were brought in to shore up positions of need.

Even players already on the roster will get a new start with Tom Herman’s staff leaving town and Sarkisian and his staff coming in. Texas has always had an abundance of talent on their roster waiting to break out.

Spring ball is less than a month away and players have begun workouts over the past couple of weeks. Sarkisian and his staff have had the opportunity to break down and study their current roster and will be willing to play whoever the best players are. Even if that means their playing time has been limited in the past.
