Texas hoping to bolster tight end position, offer big-bodied recruit

On Tuesday, Texas sent offers to two highly sought-after tight ends in the 2021 recruiting class.

Just hours after Texas offered top-rated tight end Thomas Fidone on Tuesday, three-star tight end Gunnar Helm happily announced that he also received an offer from the University of Texas.

Helm’s recruiting trail has recently skyrocketed in a positive direction, receiving offers from programs such as Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and several others. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 6 overall prospect in the state of Colorado for the 2021 recruiting class.

The 6-5, 225-pound athlete attends Cherry Creek High School and has participated in the Under Armour Los Angeles Camp. His only reported visit at this time was an unofficial visit to UCLA back in January.

Both Helm and Fidone seemingly expressed their positive interactions with Texas tight end and special teams coach Jay Boulware.
