Texas has the top returning offensive lineman in the Big 12

According to Pro Football Focus, Texas left tackle Samuel Cosmi is the top returning offensive lineman in the Big 12.

It’s not even close.

Left tackle Samuel Cosmi is expected to anchor the Longhorns offensive line in 2020. After an impressive 2019 season, Cosmi had sought feedback from the NFL’s draft advisory committee.

After deciding to return to school to fulfill a lifelong dream of graduating from the University of Texas, Cosmi is now rated the top returning offensive lineman in the Big 12.

According to Pro Football Focus, Cosmi’s grade is ten points higher than the No. 2 spot in Adrian Ealy of Oklahoma.

The 6-7, 300-pound lineman moved from right tackle to left tackle prior to the 2019 season. It was clearly the right move for Texas, as Cosmi earned honorable mention in 2019 for the Big 12’s offensive lineman of the year award.

Although he redshirted in 2017, he has played in 27 career games with 26 starts. Cosmi could drastically improve his draft stock this season to potentially be selected within the first few rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft.

With senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger and the three-headed backfield of Keontay Ingram, Roschon Johnson, and Bijan Robinson lining up behind Cosmi, the sky is the limit for this Texas offense in 2020.
