The Run Defense Continues to Surge

Through the first three games of Big 12 Conference play, the run defense had their fair share of problems. Against Texas Tech, Texas Christian and Oklahoma they were giving up 183 yards per game on the ground. It was just the yards rushing that was a problem, they gave up nine rushing touchdowns in that stretch. No surprise they went 1-2 through three games. They were an onside kick away from 0-3.

Ever since they came off that bye week with Baylor, Oklahoma State and West Virginia it has been a difference story. They have surrendered just 79 yards a game on the ground and just one rushing touchdown. It came against West Virginia early on in the game. The Longhorns shut it down after that run by Leddie Brown.
