Texas Football Recruiting: Five recruits Steve Sarkisian must land

Without stepping a foot on campus, the intrigue of coming to play for UT has been reignited. Here are five recruits Sarkisian must land:

L.J. Johnson

Position: Running back

Class: 2021

247Sports composite rating: 0.9894

Analysis: Running backs coach Stan Drayton announced he would be returning to be apart of Steve Sarkisian’s staff. Not only because he has done an excellent job developing players for Texas but also to keep recruiting momentum at the position.

L.J. Johnson is one of those players Drayton has the ability to reel into a rather disappointing offensive 2021 class. The No. 3 running back in the country would just add to the depth the Longhorns possess in the position room.

Three-star Jonathan Brooks already features in the class. However, Johnson features as one of the best running backs in the 2021 class. He would be something too good to pass upon. With Johnson down to Texas or Texas A&M, bringing him to Austin is an even bigger plus. Sarkisian getting his first commitment as the head coach from the four-star would be a major win.
