Texas ex LaMarcus Aldridge undergoes surgery, season over

When the 2019-20 NBA season resumes on July 31, the San Antonio Spurs will be without one of their top players.

When the 2019-20 NBA season resumes in late July, the San Antonio Spurs will be without one of their top players.

The Spurs officially announced on Monday that former Texas star LaMarcus Aldridge underwent an arthoscopic procedure and rotator cuff debridement on his right shoulder.

The injury update disclosed that the surgery was performed on April 24 by Dr. Daniel Cooper in Dallas, Texas. While it appears the procedure itself was successful and the seven-time All-Star will be fully healthy for next season, it suddenly puts the Spurs 22-year playoff streak in question.

The Spurs will be the No. 12 seed in the West when the NBA season resumes on July 31.
