Texas head coach Tom Herman has done a great job recruiting the top players in the state.
On Wednesday, 247Sports updated their rankings which listed running back Jaydon Blue as the top running back in Texas and the No. 4 overall running back out of the 2022 recruiting class.
The Klein Cain product is continuing to heat up on the recruiting trail, receiving offers from Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, and Oklahoma among many others.
Blue is an agile back with above average foot quickness. He is a two-sport athlete in both football and track. In the spring of 2020, he recorded a 10.79 100-meter dash time. On the football field, he was named the District 15-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore in 2019.
The 5-10, 205-pound playmaker is currently listed as a four-star prospect, according to 247Sports Composite. Fortunately for the Longhorns, they were quick to offer Blue in September of 2019. Texas was the second program to offer him behind Arizona State.
According to Horns247, Blue plans to visit LSU, Texas, Georgia, USC and Oklahoma. “Texas is one of my top schools right now so I talk to them a bunch,” Blue stated. “I mainly talk to [running backs] coach [Stan] Drayton and Coach Tom Herman.”
Crystal Ball Predictions provided by 247Sports currently list Texas as the favorites to land Blue at a 70% confidence level.
