Promising defensive tackle Keondre Coburn is now questionable to return against West Virginia after suffering an ankle injury in the first quarter.
Coburn is a third-year defensive lineman who has appeared in 22 career games for Texas with 18 starts prior to this contest. In 2020, he was named a first-team preseason All-Texas selection by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine.
The Longhorns have performed well against the run this season in large part due to Coburn’s big-bodied athleticism. He’s recorded 17 tackles, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble this year.
Unfortunately for Texas, they may be forced to finish this crucial Big 12 matchup without Coburn.

Coburn limped off of the field with an ankle injury in the first quarter. It doesn’t appear to be serious, but his availability remains uncertain. T’Vondre Sweat will receive increased snaps at nose tackle in Coburn’s absence.
It’s certainly a defensive battle in Austin as the Longhorns lead the Mountaineers 10-7 near the end of the first half.
Texas and West Virginia are each fighting to remain in the Big 12 title race.
