Mental health is extremely important at every stage of life.
Defensive back Kobe Boyce announced via Twitter on Saturday that he will no longer be participating in football, but will continue to remain a student at the University of Texas in hopes of receiving a degree.

The powerful message from Boyce centers around the growing issue of mental health during these unprecedented times. The fourth-year cornerback admitted to letting his emotions build up inside and not let them out, eventually sinking into depression.
To have the courage to open up and speak on this in order to focus on himself off of the field will be widely respected by all who know him. Our best wishes go out to Boyce as he begins this next chapter in life.
Over the course of his collegiate career at Texas, Boyce appeared in 19 games with six starts. In 2019, he logged four total tackles and broke up a team-high five passes.
